First Day of School - August 25, 2009

The morning went fairly smoothly. Daddy got us all up and moving (it's awesome that he's a morning person). Mommy wanted just a "few pictures" before we headed out the door for the first day of school. (a small photo shoot Daddy called it)

So here is Evan heading off to Second Grade on the LEFT and his picture last year on his first day of First Grade on the RIGHT...check out how much he grew (no wonder we went through THREE pant sizes over the Winter)! Cute smile with NO front teeth. :)

Ashlyn Grace's first day of K-4. It took MANY pictures to find one where she didn't look petrified. :O (thank goodness for digital pictures, instant results and no cost to keep shooting)

And since Big Brother and Sister were posing for pictures with their signs, Colson said, "Here Mommy take my picture!" (he had his own sign in-hand...ready for HIS big picture...already chewing on his one piece of gum for the day) Gotta love this little guy!

Loading up...(the WHOLE Flock, of course, and Aunt Yvonne joined us)

Evan arrived JUST in time to go into class with everyone, but he missed the class photo shoot. (oops) Anyway- he's headed in and seems to be smiling the whole way! Mrs. Nelson said that they could sit where ever they wanted and they, without prompting, established a girl table and a boy table. Evan picked a seat at the boy table, next to a new classmate, Keaton.

A Mommy-Friend snapped this shot before we took Ashlyn Grace to her class. Braxton and Aunt Yvonne are there too...but the sidewalk was too small the squeeze us all into the picture. (Daddy was almost too tall to make the picture too) :O

Ashlyn Grace went into her class with us ALL in tow and promptly parked herself at the dollhouse. Here she is with a priceless good-bye to Little Brother Coly. I left out the teary Mommy good-bye picture. (thank you Daddy for NOT capturing that on film)

Then, as we were walking back to the car, Colson had his own mini field-trip on the big bull dozer in the parking lot. (you can see he still has his "sign" in hand)

Daddy loaded us in the black beast (me, Coly, Braxton and Aunt Yvonne) and then got in the Sub and headed to the office. As I drove off I said a silent prayer that they would both have a good day and quietly wiped the few last tears that ran down the side of my cheeks.
