Homeschool Science Fun

This evening, after showers we did Ashlyn Grace's Science as a family. There was a sheet of "experiments" to choose from so first we selected the lesson on Static! Check out Coly's hair after a few quick rubs of the balloon on his silky smooth blond bowl cut.
Next Daddy rubbed it on his own hair and "attached" it to the wall. (watch the pencil in Evan's hand closely) Ashlyn Grace, as if to read her brother's mind, is jumping up and down yelling "No don't touch it" and Daddy is proud of his ability to WOW the audience!
Since it's up around Daddy's head height Evan tried a more creative way to dislodge it from the wall. (guess he won't be joining the Major Leagues any time soon)
Next we got a class beverage bottle and attached a balloon to the top, placed the bottle on top of the toaster, engaged the toaster and watched the balloon expand as the air in the bottle got warmer. THEN we placed it in the freezer, still attached and found it deflated after only a few short minutes in the subzero.
Clearly, I didn't teach this lesson or I would have more fun facts to add...but it was fun that everyone got to participate, learn and laugh! Evan busted his balloon while over inflating it and it was SO L-O-U-D that it hurt Mommy's ear and Braxton said, "Loud Evan!" It's never a dull moment around here.
