So later Wednesday evening Nonnie and Pop arrived, and in keeping with the tradition of the past 5 years we celebrated Nonnie's Birthday that night! Happy Birthday to you....
Everyone was waiting for their piece of "German Shepard" Cake! (another tradition)
Turkey Day arrived and as Pop and Grandpa were outside frying up the turkeys (another tradition and one of my person favorites)...

Then it was mimosa time (another tradition)...for the grown-ups not the children. SO, after serving the adult beverages, Mommy mixed up some fun beverages for the Flock. Colson was very pleased with his refill of orange juice and cranberry juice!
The karaoke machine (which was integral in their performance) also plays music, so after their individual Thanks...they followed up with a musical performance...continuing to use the couch and ottoman as their stage.

Then we blessed the food and sat down to enjoy the blessing of everyone's company. This year we could all sit at one table because Nana and Papa were in Ohio and Brittany and Juan were in Sweden (we missed you guys)!
After the meal was the beginning of a new tradition: The Thanksgiving Matinee- Choreographed and Directed by Evan Fleming. With Guest Appearances by Ashlyn Grace and Colson. (Braxton didn't get selected for a part this year) As we were finishing up our meal the children "set up the living room" for their show. Then we were individually escorted to our chairs...it was a good time to be had by all!
Evan starts out with an introduction and then pleasantly shares the microphone with his sister, while telling her what to say- going down the list of guests one-by-one Thanking them for coming and for some special contribution they brought/did/had/etc.! (it was SO sweet and heartwarming to hear whom they Thanked for What)

Then the matinee concluded...we snapped a family picture and put the kids down for a nap...and I think I few of the adults caught some ZZZsss too!
